Pure class. Jack takes out Fayed in Hollywood style, more political machinations at the White House and the return of Cheng... and Audrey.

5 stars for the Fayed take-down alone. The music, the cheesy lines, everything.

Yea everything with Fayed was great. I liked how they tried to set him up and also the final fight with Jack, though surely it was a bit of a tactical error from Jack, the smart thing would have been to call CTU and let them know where Fayed was before going in all guns blazing. Obviously it all worked out since he's Jack, with a great fight to top it off.

Not too keen on the ending though, how convenient, the moment Jack wraps everything up then something else pops up out of thin air to keep him busy for the next 7 hours...

Maybe it will tie in with Fayed somehow, that I could live with, if Fayed somehow had a deal with the Chinese guy to act as back up in a worse case scenario, but I think that'd be something of a stretch, looks like an entirely new plot that happens to begin the very instant Jack finishes off Fayed.

Well we'll see how it plays out. I'm not sure we've seen the last of Gredenko, or Jack's dad this Season. I'll be interested to see what happens from here, also there's a lot still happening in the whitehouse so I don't think the threat of nukes has completely passed just yet.

    Loved it.

One of the best eps this season. Other than a poor ending with the Chinese it'd have rivaled Hour4 for best overall.

Really not sure how this new plot is going to play out, there's only 7 hours left.

    Excellent finale by Jack.

    5*

    **** me.

Another top notch episode from 24. I thought it was a little early for Jack to have saved the day but Audrey is alive (huzzah! I knew she couldn't be dead :D )

Wonder what the Chinese will try do now.

I loved when Jack said "Say hello to your brother" as he killed him. There was a few other smart comments I liked this episode.

    Great ep!

    Jack/Fayed was awesome!

Also for a second there when Doyle arrived I decided hes up to no good! Now im not so sure!

Also im sorry Audrey is alive tbh, I wanted Jack to end up with his dead brother's wife!

Jack can have every woman in the world if he wants. :D

Quite possibly one of the best bad guy deaths of all time :). And to make it even better the Chinese are back. Audrey being alive was no surprise sadly as some dickhead spoiled it last week. I liked how the president played the mystery Middle Eastern government. Fantastic episode.

Came across some vague spoilers ages ago and I saw on the imdb that Kim Raver was due to appear in this episode so I figured out exactly what was going to happen at the end - but it still ****ing rocked :)

I still remember one small bit of spoiler on the rest of the season which for obvious reasons I won't share here, but for anyone who is worried about what remains of the season, my tidbit of knowledge makes me reckon it's going to be awesome!

Great episode although it looks like they finished the series early and needed something else to keep going for the last 7 hours. At first i was expecting a twist nuke's taking by the time he got to the table after killing Fayed but as soon as the phone rang i knew it was either kim or audry and seen as some one here let it slip bout audry i knew it was her and that the chinese had her.

BTW has anyone else noticed Palmers wedding ring? Very obvious this episode, I had noticed it before but thought it might have been a mistake. No mention of First Lady. Wonder is that a twist/surprise? His sister was his next of kin in the hospital.

Also still no mention of Logan. Wonder did they forget about him?

Yep, that's 24 back in great form with a vengeance. And for one reason: Jack. Unlike many other hours, this one had loads of him which made it brilliant.

The start was pretty great, I almost forget it due to the rest of the episode already! But Palmer's bluff was top notch. He should really step down though. Not sure if I wanna be watching him spluttering and struggling through the next few eppys.

Then Jack took control. The CTU bluff with him and Doyle was well done, never saw it coming. Though I had some slight suspicions why the blokes didn't shoot Jack dead when they dandered off with Fayed.

Fayed's escape was good. The wee bit of lunacy which 24 needs imo came with Jack hitching a lift off Fayed from under the truck. Pretty funny. His showdown with Fayed was brilliantly done too. Very eerie with the music and kinda reminded me of his showdown with the Drazens in s1 for some reason. There seemed to be a more personal element to it than other episodes in the way Jack took them on by himself instead of the whole CTU shabang landing in.

Didn't see the ending coming at all. Things're gonna get a lot more personal, when 24 excels imo.

5 stars. My first since the fourth eppy.

Guess im out on my own thinking it wasnt a great episode, the big shock of last week turned out to be what everyone expected.. a bluff by the president. It was obvious Audrey was still gonna be alive even if you didnt hear a spoiler off someone. Also I was really enjoying vp daniels and no sign of him this episode. Whats more of a shock to me is they got the nukes, they are gonna have to take a whole new direction now which might work or it might make all the previous episodes seem a wast of time. (I did think the fight with fayed was great though.)

    yeah, 5* ep indeed.

I never happened that they found the prime WOMD so early on in the day.. so
either they play a differnt theme for the last 5 hours or...
the second suitcase is empty (Doyle didn't check the second one.)

or the chinese force Jack to exchange a nuke for Audrey.

Btw, did anyone remember the phone number Jack is meant to call? Without having just shot 6 men and hung the baddy after a first fight show down? :-)

freeking great episode... the gun battles this season have been amazing. Everyone of them well executed. I don't really care so much about the storyline in 24 as much as I care about the action, and this episode proved that 24 is second to none when it comes to piling on the action scenes.

I loved the look on Jacks face when he was scoping out Fayed and his henchmen and weighing up the odds. You are thinking to yourself "ok, theres maybe 10 people, and fayeds inside a metal grill cage, jacks going to call for backup... but no, he goes in guns blazing... sheer brilliance.

I can only hope now that Jack somehow manages to get hold of a Katana and goes postal on all of the Chinese... :D

I see Milo had a freak-out because Nadia and Doyle are friendly. What a jerk! How can anyone like this character?

Not too thrilled about Audrey being alive - always thought she was a bit of a wet fish. No chemistry with Jack I think. Looking at next week's preview, it doesn't seem right that Jack would
risk national security and try to give in to Cheng's demands involving the nukes somehow just to get her back
At least it probably means Jim Heller is coming back for a bit - he's cool.

Although.... I did hear about a major spoiler/rumour that seems to fit with the events so far and has me secretly looking forward to the Audrey rescue denouement. Here it is for those interested but it's pretty big so don't read if you want to have that Usual Suspects Keiser Soze moment:)...
The Chinese did some kind of lobotomy on Audrey essentially making her a cabbage. I noticed she was acting/talking strangely to Jack, but it could be interpreted as just extreme mental distress after punishment/torture. Really hope she's a cabbage though:D

I heard that too, I doubt it's true though. She just looked traumatised to me. It'd be a pretty stupid twist really, and I'll be very disappointed if its true - one mentally handicapped character causing Jack a dilemma in day 6 isn't enough?

//EDIT - just had a look online and it looks high likely that this will happen. Kim Raver is starring in another show so she likely wouldn't be available to return for a season 7 anyway. What a load of balls.

Great ep, possibly the best so far this season.

Either the chinese will look to get their hands on the nuke in return for audrey, or the obvious one, I thought, is that there will be no nuke in the second case, they do focus on the two cases, one open, one not.

And I thought doyle was going to be in on it for a while there.
I still think he will, they seem to show him as the bad guy then make him do something good each time, I'd say he'll turn out to be a 'baddie' :)

Wow:eek: What an episode! Finally its back to basics the things that made the older 24 what it was.

The president's bluff was pure class, didn't even cross my mind as i thought he was delusional and was going crazy at Noah calling him weak.

When the truck got hit i was about to turn away:p because i thought to myself if they're using the ambushed transport scene again thats it!-i mean how many times has this happened in 24? But it all turned out great with CTU following them.

It was great to see classic Jack back in action, did anyone else think it was just like the Drazen shootout in season 1?? Pure classic Jack Bauer takes down a warehouse on his own and all the latecomers (Doyle) can do is say : 'Damn Jack!' The killing of Fayed was perfect, it had such a personal element to it that we haven't seen in a long time on the show. It was such a good fight with Fayed, it crossed my mind that they were trying to show how they were so equal/alike but in the end Jack prevailed:rolleyes:

The twists, fight scenes, shootouts, and the ending-all perfect!
Gave it a five as it deserves nothing less!:D

Didn't see the Audrey thing coming? We're in for a good last few hours.

I really don't think hanging onto the bottom of a lorry like that will do your shooting arm any good. How DOES he do it?

Absolutly excellent episode - the guys at CTU can act as well

A huge set up that (eventually) lead to the suitcase nukes being retrieved, and the end of the Islamic terrorist attacks. At least now with the Chinese, we won't have to endure "thier country" etc. although I would wonder, with only 7 hours left, how this storyline will play out. Could it run into Day 7???

Anyways, excellent episode and a great death for Fayed :D

    Top class episode.

The final scene with Jack hanging Fayed was just unbelievable!

24 is back, 24 is back!!! Best ep of the season, and one of the better episodes of the series.

Did no one else think of Die Hard when Jack hung Fayed? Class episode though, I knew there was gonna be a showdown when Jack kicked the legs from other the terrorist outside, then broke his neck. Very, very cool. When I saw Tzi Ma's name in the credits, I knew that Audrey would be back. Nuts, I've been predicting stuff using the opening credits too much, I shouldn't look!

Absolutely: "Say hi to your brother" :)

Something I forgot to mention, I'm liking the new Wayne Palmer.

    Ambassador: "He's not being cooperative."

Palmer: "Maybe you need to be more pursuasive."

    Ambassador: "But we've done everything!"

Palmer: "Did you threaten to kill his family?"

Those few hours he spent with Jack in Season 5 gave him good experience :)

Outstanding stuff, this was best episode of Day 6 since hour 4. From Palmer's bluff, to Jack hanging underneath a truck to him stringing Fayid up on a metal chain after whispering "Say hi to your brother for me" were all vintage 24.

Most 24 fans knew Audrey wasn't really dead. Palmer (I bet he dies), Tom Lennox (good guy/bad guy ?) and even Daniels (I never knew Nurse Paul Flowers could be so threatening) have all gotten a lot more interesting over the last few hours.

The final third of the season will determine whether Day 6 is a keeper though. The Chinese threat better be good. 24 fans have a long memory..

Curtis was shot dead by Jack, nuclear bomb goes off

I think that was episode four.

Probably one of 24 best episodes.

    Ah yeah, terrific episode.
Although unfortunately Wikipedia had spoiled the fact that Jack was going to kill Curtis:mad: All I was doing was looking up the 24 graphic novels!

never mind needin a rest - the late brothers wife has a thing for jack and she is FFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR hotter then Audrey! COME ON JACK!

Actually, Jack should go steal Nadia from Milo....she's the hottest on the show!

    First 59 minutes 5*
    Last minute 1*

God I hate Audrey, she's a complete pain in the arse and adds nothing to the show. Friends in the States have told me that next week's episode (I'm watching on Sky) is very disappointing but they're under orders not to give me spoilers so I don't know why yet, but I'm presuming it's something to do with Audrey.

Yeah I was disappointed that nothing developed between Jack and Graham's missus. Also I think it's a bit far-fetched that Audrey would go over to China to "rescue" Jack. One would imagine that she might still be just a little pissed with him over the small matter of eh,
    murdering her ex-husband
    in Day 4?
