    Hi everyone!

Any suggestions as to how I could help my mother to meet new female friends???? She Knows nobody in Dublin as she spent her life bringing up her kids. Now that we have all flown the nest she is starting to feel as though she has nobody. Looked up a few of the friendship website but they are all sexually orientated. She would like to meet female friends in similar situation aged 45+

    all suggestion greatly appreciated

Join a nightclass or a club would be the most obvious option.

The most obvious answer: What are her interests? Courses, book clubs,etc...

Know it sounds corny, but the ICA are in Dublin as well as 'down the country'.

Lots of art classes out there too. Even if she has no experience, she might find it very interesting, and make new friends as well.

If she has time on her hands, lots of charity work out there too - helping in shops etc. Meeting new people is usually a by-product of activities.

If she has a car, the hospices can always do with help picking people up and dropping them home after appointments or day care. There is quite a group of (mainly) women who do this.
