Handmade glass beads - any classes for this?

I love to buy handmade glass beads & am toying with the idea of getting a starter kit & kiln but would like to try it first in case I waste over 1k getting the kit etc, so does anyone do classes in Ireland? I know bead makers in the uk that I can take classes from but thats an awful long way to!
