Hi i was wondering would anyone be able to help me...! i have a problem with my laptop when booting up...I get a black screen with white writing saying "we apologize for the inconvenience but we are unable to start windows" then it goes on to say that you can start it up in safe mode, or last configuration known or start windows normally...i have tried each one separately and i get as far as loading windows xp screen..but then it goes back to the black screen again...what could honestly be the problem....any help is much appreciated...thanks

The problem here could be any number of possibilities, could be a virus, could be a bad hard drive, corrupt windows installation, bad driver file etc causing this reboot cycle.
It sound like you may need to bring it to a qualified Repair centre locally or indeed ask a friend who may know a bit!
I would reckon that theres a problem with your windows installation and you may need to repair Windows by doing a repair reinstall to the Operating System.

This is more a generic Windows error, so you will probably get a better response over on the Windows forum.
