As the title says, is this difficult ot do and do immobilisers (sp?) go crazy if you start messing with under dash wiring?

I only have one key for my Safrane and it's€180 ish for a new one. The key has a bit of a bend in it that I'm convinced has been getting worse (could be just mad)

So I was thinking of removing the need to ever have to physically use the key in the ignition. Plus its just easier to not have to take my keys out of my pocket. :)

Pro's/Con's? Anyone any experience of this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRO-START-Push-Button-Ignition-Start-Kit-Standard_W0QQitemZ330106930555QQcategoryZ36681QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or similar.

Is it more hassle than it's worth?

IIRC, most of the push buttons on ebay still require the key to be put into the ignition and turned. Some insurance companies may not be too fond of them either.

friend did one in 5 mins in his Clio...just for the novelty though....still required the key to be turned to 2 I'm afraid.

There's probably some sort of system out there to suit what you're looking for though. Damn expensive would be my guess at a price;)

Have one in my motor, factory fitted but you still need the key. Maybe you're thinking about the keyless start option that Renaults and the like have?

    Boo Urns.

You I know bout the Renault keyless stuff, mines a 97 though, so pre-dates all that jiggery-pokery.

Was just having a poke around and found the ones I linked to in my op, but it's pointless if I still have to use the key.Cheers lads.
