Cash Game Midland Maniacs!!

I was down in the midlands over the weekend and ventured into a small casino on sat nite after a hefty session. The game was a 1/2 hold'em cash game and was the only game going in the place. I decided to buy in small for 80 and played very tight for the first while. I found myself more interested in watching the loose, crazy action than even getting invlovled with a hand. I couldnt get over how loose the players were! They were mostly middle aged men with fresh wads of 50's stuffed in their pockets and were quite happy to invest alot of this money on border line hands. I was really surprised to see the hands these guy's were showing down. I mean mid pairs, missed draws, small aces etc. They didnt seem too bothered to be waiting around for strong hands. I sat there for the first hour totally gob smacked at how loose this game was. I also came to the conclusion that there was not one solid player at the table. I mean these guy's did not care how much it cost to see the turn river card on a 4 flush draw or toss away their Ace with 6 kicker after been re-raised etc. Anyway i finally decided to get stuck in and doubled up with 2 pair. I also took down a few small pots with high pairs and that but couldn't really get stuck into a big pot as i simply didnt have enough chips to butt heads with these guy's. Pre flop All in's were very common with alot of people doubling up with hands like JJ or even 77. People were doubling up quite easy and there always seemed to be a caller willing to put alot of chips in for a coin flip. At about 5:30 am the dealer announced closing time to be just after 6 so this is when things really got wild! After not playing a hand in about 3 orbits i looked down at kings one away from the button. I made the max raise to 10 pre flop and was re-raised to 50 by probably the loosest player of them all. This guy was involved in almost every pot and would commonly raise pre-flop and staddle. I wondered why this guy would make such a re-raise to a player like myself who was pretty much playing ultra tight. My hand clearly screamed strenght. Why was this guy re-raising to 50 after limping pre-flop in early position. I thought he was probably trying to take the pot down right now and scare me off. As the club was closing soon and i was still quite under the influence of alchohol, i decided to take one big gambling stab at doubling up before bed. I felt my Kings were most likely good and that i coulf be up against and mid pocket pair or 2 high cards. I thought to myself that i'm probably going to put all my money in to this hand anyway as his continuation bet would probably be most of my stack (He had about 500 in front of him) So i pushed all in for about 190. He thought for a while which eased my tention as i feared a quick call. As expected he eventually called and flipped over A 4 OS. I showed my kings and waited for the board to come. I was obviously nervious to see an Ace and this was shortly follwed my a board of 7 10 A. I can't even remember the last two cards as my miracle king never came. I left the club wondering how this guy could call an all in from the tighest player at the table with a weak Ace. But then again this was not the strategic tournament style poker game i am used to. These guy's are total gamblers. They are not interested in outplaying but more looking to spin the wheel. I would not usually make such a bold move only that i sat there for 2 hours watching these guy's make crazy plays and call all in's from borderline hands. I took a chance with the kings as i figuered why not try to get some of their money with an actual strong hand when people were doing it with far less. I take poker very serious and felt dissapointed with letting myself lose all my chips on a coin flip. I usually stay well clear of these types of situations but it was the only way these guy's played. I expected one of these small town clubs to be like this but i couldn't keep away. The funny thing is i'm dying to go back! This time sober of course with a but more money and patience. I'm telling you, these games are absolutely nuts! You have to see it to believe it. It's like they've just been given a 5 minute hold'em tutorial and are now putting their knolwedge to the test. Absolute Gamblers! Pot Odds? wha? Never heard of them?
And they took me to the cleaners!:D .....oh well it deserves me right for trying to use conservative play!

Don't know what kind of coins you're used to. You got all your money in preflop with KK against a very loose player in a very loose game. I believe there's a sticky for such stories. As an entertaining tale though I'll give your essay a C. You lose marks for lack of paragraphing etc
