    Hi,

    I have a Toshiba Equium A60 155, 2.8gh 256ram.

I was looking at getting some recording equipment and it says the minimum system requirements are

    Pentium II 350 w/ 64MB RAM

My laptop has Celeron D processor, would this work?

Also was thinking of adding more memory. Can this take 1gb more? bringing it up to 1256gb??

    Thanks for your time..

Yes you processor is more then enough. I highly doubt it can take an extra gig. Infact I am going to say that you cant put an extra gig in, although there is a slight chance I am wrong.

    Well arording to shop4memory http://memory.neon-drive.com/s4m.php?model_num=153&oemid=TOS&thisman=TOSHIBA
you can buy a 1 GB module to bring it up to 1.25 GB

That link is for a different laptop, its for the 692 whereas this person has the 155. You may very well be right anyway though. I dont know.

    Ok cool my bad.

1280 MB is an odd number to have for ram. That would suggest that one slot can take a gig and the other only 256

I think a good few laptops are like that. You can only access the expantion memory slot, not the originaly installed memory.
Well you could access the other memory slot but you would have to take the whole laptop apart so it's not recomended.

Try crucial.com/eu for memory prices also. You just have to input the details of your computer and it will bring up what you need. Shop4memory as listed are excellent also.

For home recording Hard Drive speed is also a factor. Most laptop drives run at 5400 RPM which is far from ideal. It depends on a number of factors though, a single 16bit/44.1Khz stereo track will be fine but multiple 24bit/44.1-96Khz tracks will likely be problematic. Just something to keep in mind.
