Just got a new kitchen installed with a solid beech worktop. I got a tin of worktop oil and in the instructions it says to apply a coat, wait 20 minutes and sand with a 320 to 400 grit sandpaper with the grain then wipe off excess oil. The next step it says is to polish with a 'white polishing pad'. What's a white polishing pad, are we talking an old tee shirt here or is there something called a white polishing pad on the market.

A white polishing pad is a grade of scotchbrite, not sure which grade but it is not coarse.

If the worktops are to be used for food preparation, it's a good idea to use domestic vegetable or sunflower oil rather than Danish.
