Erasmus Student seeking Accomodation

    I may be coming to NUI Galway as an Erasmus Student next year. I have been searching for possible accomodation and have decided on one of the following:

    Atlantis, Centrepoint or Dunaras

    I know they are not the closest to uni but I don't mind a 20/25 mins walk (If on certain days I don't want to walk I could catch a bus, no? Btw how much does it cost to catch a bus in Galway?). Anyway, the most important thing for me is how safe the areas in which they are situated are. I know Centrepoint is in an Industrial Estate but is it safe? Are Atlantis and Dunaras situated in safe areas? I've heard that certain areas tend to have a higher crime rate, so which areas should I avoid living in?

    Has anyone stayed in any one of the above three? I would like to hear from anyone who could possibly give me some more information.
