They were supposed to play Marley Park a couple of years back, but had to cancel when drummer Neil nearly broke his back.
They've done a few tours since, and are currently on another UK one with a new album coming out, but (yet again) no Ireland gigs have been announced.
What gives? Thought they'd do *that festival*, Dublin Castle or even a stand-alone.
Anyone heard any rumours they'd come over?
Look like I'll go over and see them in the UK if not.

(yeah, I know there's a lot of people who don't like 'em, and will say 'they so bland...blah blah blah.... please keep out of this thread, thank you)

yep, i agree with ya, would love to see Travis here. There seems to be a few bands snubbing ireland at the moment, such Keane, manics, Ash, lostprophets to name a few.

I've been pretty pissed off with them ever since they decided to tour everywhere except Ireland. I wonder why they don't bother coming back ever since they canceled the gig.

You'll probably find its a case of the fact that their are only two major promoters in Ireland, one of which they may have let down with the cancelled gig previously and the other may not be interested in them.

I'm sure an email to either promoter would clarify.

can anyone else take a risk to pay and bring them over or can it only be one of the big two?
I'd almost put my hand in my pocket and pay for these guys!

    Seating tickets in Tripod.

It's quite expensive for a band to cross the water to play a one off gig, this has always been the case. Personally I don't think it's too much.

    Some info about Tripod:
    http://www.pod.ie/about_tripod.php
Looks like a mini Vicar St.
Ticket price isn't much for such an intimate venue IMO.
Really looking forward to this gig

Tripod would be a great place to see someone like TRavis - or any acoustic-able bands. its very intimate, i like Just jack played there last week.

Brilliant! I can't wait for this!! :D Have been waiting for them to come back for years. Happy days :D

Did anybody go last night?, thought they were fantastic myself. Such an intimate venue really suited and when things got going the atmosphere was electric. Was a little worried about the sound for the first few tracks but it seemed to sort itself out. A mixture of the classics and the new stuff and IMO the new album is the best yet. Frans banter really got the crowd going. Thanks for coming guys and don't leave it so long next time!

Yea that was amazing. One of the best gigs ive ever been to, they really worked the crowd and the set was just perfect. About a billion times better than the last time i saw them in the Ulster hall in Belfast. Altogether a great night :D.

I saw them at V99 in Chelmsford and was very disappointed, last night blew me away though

    Amazing! Any pics anyone?

Simply stunning!!! Came in around 8.45pm though and they were already playing Selfish Jean. Did I miss any songs before this?
The crowd and venue was perfect. Sound brilliant and set list brilliant.
I know they've played huge venues before, but I feel a venue like last night really suited them. The energy was amazing! Remember Andy crowd surfing... Fran throwing his guitar high up and catching it... Dougie singing for Fran.... the 'busker style' Flowers In The Window with Andy taking over guitar playing duties behind Frans back!... Fran getting everyone to pogo for the last song, why does it always... and not to mention Klass!! Klass, Klass, Klass!!

The way they got the crowd going... well, they were like a band just about to hit their peak! Just took a few photos from phone. Sorry about quality, but I'm sure lots other good pics around, prob on their fan forums - http://www.travisonline.com/tourarchive/2007/06/26/?s=659

What a gig! I brought a non Travis fan who has now been converted. It was superb! :D God I wish they'd play one of the festivals here this year, I'd love to see them again if lastnight was anything to go by, they were on top form!
