Windows XP for new MacBook

I've ordered a new MacBook which should be here before too long. I want to get XP Professional to put on it. Where should I get it? How much will it cost? I see a lot of different prices out there; OEM versions (whatever those are) cost a lot less than other ones. Anyone have advice?

That's the upgrade, not the full version, and I haven't been a student for, um, a while now. Thanks though.

So far I had a suggestion to go for an OEM version from Komplett.ie

    They don't do any checks.
I have installed two copies of XP from them. Once on a Windows 2000 machine and the other time on Ubuntu. They are full versions.

Doesn't matter that they don't check, it won't be a legitimate licence.

OEM from Komplett or Overclockers, their prices tend to be almost identical but vary a little depending on the strength of sterling.

In what way won't it be legitimate?

The onus is on the seller to ensure they're selling to a student, not on the buyer to prove to Microsoft that they are a student. I don't know about that company, but there is a company in Cork who sell to students for a similar price as that site and all the licences are genuine.

Yes it is legitimate, how isn't it? They are an official MS reseller. They provide you with a legitimate serial number. There isn't much else to it really.

Right so, why is this in the Mac forum any longer?
