audio issue

    hi
    i came across some eac3 ( enhanced ac3) audio files but i hear absolutely nothing. google doesnt help as i tought it might have bein a codec problem and i have the normal ac3 filter installed.

    anybody ever handled this audio files?

    Try playing them with Winamp or dbpoweramp.

    Go download the k-lite mega codec pack. And just use the standard install option, this should sort it for you.

    Would burning them and then playnig them on a dedicated system ,make a difference?
    I would definetly burn them ,with even a dedicated burning program

    EAC3 is not supported by any of the regular codecs including AC3 Filter.

    In order for EAC3 to work you will need to mux it into a container like MKV (latest Haali media splitter supports EAC3) and provide a decoder, the only free one I know of is here but must be compiled.

    Latest versions of MKV Toolnix build 2.0.2 or later support muxing EAC3 streams.

    Alternatively if you have WinDVD HD you can use it's EAC3 directshow decoder or Sonic Cinemaster Audio Decoder 4.1 & 4.2 also apparently work in Graphedit as well.

    very useful site , the compiling thing seems a bit complicated for me so i think i ll leave it for a while
    i have windvd 8 the hd edition
    but it wont open the mkv files that i have anyway so i cant test it for that
