Why do Tottenham have to play at 12.45 tomorrow morning ?
Thats less that 40 hours after playing in Seville.
    Bloody disgrace that.

Anyone else blame that goal completely on Robinson? He seemed to react so slowly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

Looked like he was expecting the defender to get a touch on it. But yea, shoulda done much better. Spurs deserved a point I felt.

****ing hell, what a win for West Ham.
    Sheff United and Wigan lost.
Charlton got the draw last night.

It really is on for Charlton now, with West Ham having a great shot, despite having to play some of the top teams still

God day for Pool with a hard fought win and Arse loosing. Bolton for 4th place anyone? ;)

bloody hell managed to watch most of the game and miss all the goals at the same time. good result. wouldn't rule out Bolton for 4th either... Arsenal seem to be in free fall at the moment.

Pressure is on Utd. now, Richardson starting... hmm... should make for a decent game hopefully.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,983 ✭✭✭leninbenjamin

1-0 to Portsmouth. Opportunistic goal by Taylor, a rebound parried straight in front by VDS. reminiscent of Roma's second goal...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Hate to criticise players but I cannot for the life of me understand why Fergie persists with Richardson. When I saw him in the tunnel I just had to sigh!

Anyway, plenty of time to go. Hopefully the players will drink a bit of whatever they had against Blackburn at half time last saturday!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Richardson once again poor, he just can't seem to take his chance.

I still think we can win this game, we've made some clear chances, we just havn't put them away. Ronaldo could have had 2, Carrick and Rooney could have had one.
Either bringing on Giggs or Ole for Richardson will make us much better.

Wenger absolutely must buy a (maybe even two) goal-scoring midfielder or good 4th striker in the summer.

For sure. Hopefully Wenger knows this too.

10mins left, don't think I've ever seen a ManU team lacking so much passion.

Still you could see them nicking something late on.

Portsmouth are pressing Utd at every chance, credit to their performance.

Good God this is frustrating stuff from United. Please, please, please nick a draw...

    2-1, 4mins left.

Credit to Alan Smith for winning that ball back.

Game over 2-1 Pompey, well done.

James with a great last minute save

my god what a game and what a way to throw it all away. Giggs looked utter sh*te when he came on. Smyth should have been on sooner, they needed a bit of a warrior like him up front, he was the only player to actually go fight for the ball when ever they lost it in pressing.

the game displayed a real lack of communication between United players. so many knockdowns and passes that went the opposite way of where the team mate was. The own goal was the culmination of this. Chelsea fans should really be delighted, Utd did not look like a team that can go on to win this.

Utd also need a defensive midfielder. when the ball is lost in the attack it has to go all the way back to the defense before they can regain possession, placing to much pressure on them.

Edit: United are going to have to be very strong mentally to come through this.

Portsmouth deserved the win in the end, very poor performance from United.

Still ****ing infuriated about that offside at the very start of the second half, clearly onside and Rooney popped it away, would have totally changed the game. ****ing linesmen :/

Terrible performance today from Scholes and Carrick, who really were quite poor. Saha was missed so much it was unreal, somebody to hold onto the ball up front would have made all the difference. Giggs possibly played the worst I've ever seen him play.

    Alas, what can ya do.
The run in is going to be very very tight.

United have a easy two premiership games coming up:

    Sheffield United (H)
    Boro (H)

    Then it gets tough

    Everton (A)
    Man City (A)
    Chelsea (A)
    West Ham (H)

Chelsea on the other hand have:

    West Ham (A)
    Newcastle (A)
    Bolton (H)
    Arsenal (A)
    Man Utd (H)
    Everton (H)

Chelsea have one easy game (Newcastle), United have two, so its just really up to the teams.
Luckily for United, Vidic should return for the last four games, so we'll only be weak in defense against Sheffield and Boro at home, which should be ok :)

Other defenders would have hoofed it, seems like he didn't get a shout from somewhere.

Looked like he was blaming Wes Brown.

I would give it to both. VDS was in the wrong place, but Ferdinand didnt look and put the ball where he assumed the keeper would be, bad move. ALWAYS look first.

Chelsea stuttering all season yet still within reach, writing on the wall?
Man U were crap today just like mid week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

Man Utd played sh*t today. Scholes was completely inconspicuous for the whole match. Maybe he's p*ssed off with himself over the Roma match so he's keeping quiet? Giggs was diabolical. Heinze again played poorly. I was told that Evra was on the bench, can anyone confirm that? Smith was decent when he came on.

Van Der Sar was ridiculous... 3 times in 2 matches, he's pushed the ball back at the attackers rather than catch it or put it over the bar. 2 of those 3 times, we directly conceded a goal. And then he played a part in an own goal. He pulled off a cracking save towards the end, but these are crazy mistakes from a keeper of that caliber! And at such a key time in the competition!

John O Shea... What odds are the bookies givin for him to get a hat-trick against Roma during the week? :p

Having watched the highlights of Arsenal v West Ham I must say how the hell did West Ham go away with three points. The Gods are against Arsenal.
