Talking to a taxi driver on the way to work this morning and he said she was put down during the week. Is this true? I've been working like crazy and haven't read any racing sites in a good few days. Sorry if this has come up before.

Yes. She was retired last month and they had intended her living out her retirement at stud. A vet found an internal rupture this week though and suggested that the only course of action was for her to be put down.

Far from trouble was also destroyed this week. Very sad.

That's awful. I knew she was retired so I was surprised when he said she was put down because I knew they wouldn't have her in training. Just goes to show there's alot of luck involved in this game. She was brilliant. I'm gutted.
