Yes after all this time I have finally passed on my second attempt. Did it in the NCT test center in ballymun very nice tester. Have to say I took advice from other boardies and went with the temple school of motoring a guy called declan...very good much better than the other two instructers I had previously.

Happy days. and watch out for me on motorways.:D

I passed my test today, in Navan. Had to transfer my insurance to my Da's car as my toledo's NCT expired last week :rolleyes: Now all I have to get my Toledo with 148K miles on it to pass an NCT....

I also have done my test recently, I passed first time on tuesday. Just! In a rare good coincidence of timing, my insurance is up tomorrow. Life is good.

Just passed my test there, first time. In a car i've never driven before! The NCT ran out on my car yesterday, originally my test was meant to be friday but they cancelled on me until today which meant I couldnt do it in my car - luckily i noticed actually because i did not get any reminder in the post about it.

So i took my mam's suzuki liana which i have never driven before and shat a brick on the way there trying to get used to the clutch and mirrors...was horrible.

Then i passed... hurrah!!!

oh and i only applied on the 5th of march this year

There is no obligation on the NCT to send reminders but it is usually done as a courtesy. The onus is on the vehicle owner to ensure that it has a valid NCT Certificate.

Passed today too!

Applied last week with letter from work,

Got cancellation call on Friday asking could I make it in on Monday at 11,

Said i would give it a go,

Spent all day yesterday trying to scrape the window tints off my front driver and passenger windows!

Got through it today with 5 grade 2s,

2 for progression,

1 for Reaction,

2 for observation,

w00t!

I only paid my insurance for the year in march, anyway to reduce that and get some back?

I know its not likely but anyone know?

Yes, ring your insurance company and they'll refund you the difference in premiums for the remaining year.

I'm with quinn direct, rang them and the whole lot came down by 275 euro for the year...only paid the deposit last week and first installment hasnt been paid yet.
