Suppose all good things come in threes though, so, I'll say he'll die after a mix-up between CTU and Jack over some big operation that leads to the main CTU character that season shooting Jack.

He'll help CTU take control of 19 of them but the last one will be activated, and in a shocking twist finale, he won't have time to disarm it. He's Jack Bauer though, so he'll do what has to be done and eat it, muffling the blast.
