    Hi

I just had my first ever kernel panic. Its happened on my C2D iMac just after it booted up the desktop. Should I be panicking or just put it down as a random error?

just reading mac format issue 180.

its says when you start up your mac the kernal is the first part of your OS to load up. The kernal is the fundamental part of any OS , so any incompatible or corrupt software or, occasionally, faulty or incompatible hardware- damaged memory for instance- can cause the kernal to stop loading. that's when a kernal panic occurs.

    these are steps to take.
    1) stay calm
    2) press and hold down the power button till it shuts down
    3) do not unplug your imac from the mains

and would could you credit it, its says next issue the man will give us advice and how to recover from this situation and right now i do not have this issue. ( i get mac format sent direct to me and every time i have to e-mail them telling them they forget me, what a pain in the back side it is, so i will have the next issue soon. never again will i get it direct)

    Thanks.

Actually got a bit of help over at the official apple forums. Seems it was a Bluetooth issue. Tiger 10.4.9 seems to have made Bluetooth a wee bit unstable.
