heroic signatures.....

not being a git or anything, just curious but, is anyone concerned that the signatures based on teh heroes series being used on this board can , in themselves be a bit of a spoiler ?

My american cousins send it to me so I'm pretty much up to date myself but sigs such as the hiro vs dino , "i am sylar" , "you mean I'm canadian" etc which show scenes from the series would seem to spoil bits of the series.
I am sylar 1. shows Sylar's face thus removing the shadowy figure aspect of the series , 2. shows sylar the holding cell which will tip people off that he is captured alive by the agency

Canadian shows: girly with the haitian

    etc.

Just I think that people watching the series would be most likely to look at this section of the boards and it would be a pity to spoil something for them.

scenes from the series defeat the suspense "X cant die in this episode, he hasnt met Y yet. I saw the screenhsot on boards"

Even if people avoid threads with spoiler tags and go so far as to avoid this forum, the sigs still appear on other parts of boards.

As I said, I'm not trying to be git or anything, I was jsut wondering if anyone else had an opinion on this.

I believe their no different to the lost signatures, their not giving a discription of a scene or any story line like a post so I personally don't think their a issue.

If anything people's interest will be spiked as they'll want to see how the scene happened or in what episodes it happens in so they'll keep watching :)

    my 2 cents

    exhibit one my sig below.....

you have a point and your sig wouldnt have been on the list of ones I would class as "spoilers" . However, I would consider a sig showing part of an answer to a mystery built up in the series to be at least somewhat spoilerish.

for example, what if I saw the usual suspects before anyone else and then posted a sig with
a picture of kevin spacey and the name verbal aka kaiser Soze plastered across it
-ever know, someone might not know at this stage! or the picture of the twist character at the end of dirty rotten scroundrels ?

To be fair, I think that example is a lot more extreme than any of the Heroic Sigs.

I do get what you're saying (though this is something I wouldn't have any control over as a 'Heroes Mod', aside from asking nicely) but I'd be inclined to agree with Cabaal that any of the sigs I've seen would be more teasers than spoilers.

So you see the girly with the haitian -- without having seen the episode, I'm willing to bet that will raise more questions than answers.

No worries. As I said, I have seen the series up to date and dont find anything wrong with them personally. Just wondering if anyone else did.

too many times I have had to read a post to check if it contained spoilers... only to find out that it did indeed give away too much :( would hate a sig to have the same result with another reader.

I don't think the sigs give away much in the way of plot - I'd seen most of them before watching all the episodes and nothing was spoiled for me. Maybe the sigs that show the face of a certain someone might be considered spoilers by some people but I was dying to know what he looked like anyway.

Yeah I remember back when LOST was actually good, I had a siggy with the whole crew on it. I had Shannon crossed out (she died) and I remember that Basquelle (SP?) Just told me that he wasn't a fan of it and then I felt that I had to change it. I se what he meant though.

I agree that they act more as spoilers.

I have only recently started watching Heroes, and I watched them all from Episode 1 up to the last episode. I found it was more like "Aha, that's where that came from!" than "oh no, they spoiled it for me!"

so we should all try to be reallyclever like MonkeyFudge and create sigs that only make sense after you've seen the episode I love that one he has at the moment and it made no sense to me (and a few other people) untill we saw the ep in question, then the true genius of it was revealed.

or you could go for something blatently obvious from the first few episodes like mine

I would agree that they generate more questions than spoilers... well I would, wouldn't I ;)

EDIT: Although i've changed my sig now to one a little bit more obtuse.

I think mine is fairly obtuse... doesn't make sense unless you've seen the episode :D

This one is one of my favs,
doesn't give away a thing as by the time you see the ipod you basically know whats going to happen anyway :)
