    Hi All,

Recently my laptop which runs windows xp has been taking a ridiculous amount of time to boot up. It stays on the XP loading screen for ages before actually starting up windows xp. It has happened ever since I did a drive cleaner scan using the aShampoo optimizer programme.

Has anyone any ideas why this would happen or any suggestions?

    Thanks a mil,
    Denis

Is there anyway to undo what the optimizer program did, it possibly has an option to remove optimisations or something?

I don't think there is. It was a system scan that pointed out files that is thought wasn't being used and then deleted them. So I don't know if it deleted something important it shouldn't have and I can't seem to roll this back, even with system restore. Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi Again,

I can't find the OS Repair disk! I'm gonna try a few things like closing down some of the start up programmes and maybe running bootvis on it. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

use google to see what others say about that app

    uninstall it ?

use procexp to see what is running
use autoruns to turn off stuff you don't want to run ( both sysinternals utilities and now on microsofts site)

boot up in safe mode to compare , perhaps use system restore to go back to before you installed the app
