    Live satellite for Irish Open

Nine left, one ticket, not much worth shouting about for 2nd.

    Blinds are 500/1000, I'm on the button - avg stack about 27k, I've 17kish.

UTG raises to 5k - he's prob the short stack with another 6k or so behind. He's waited for decent hands, but it's been a while since he's had any chance to act.

I look down at 77 and get ready to push. Before it comes to me though, fourth to act goes all-in - I'm only moved to this table lately, so don't know anything about him, but he has a similar stack to my own, prob marginally more.

I know UTG will call, and I'm sure I'm facing either 4 overcards or 2 overcards and a better pair, so after some thought I fold.

Needless to say I wouldn't be thinking about this but that a 7 came on the flop, and UTGs A9 lost to TT, neither improving.

It was the first time I'd played a satellite live, so question - with only one ticket was it the time to gamble and get myself up there, or was folding the right thing to do. For the record, out in 6th.

no. you should wait for any type of edge to get your chips in. By all accounts your 77 is never good here.

Fold everytime here. You correctly read you were behind. Doesnt matter that a 7 came on flop.

Fold every time... only thing that helps you is a 7... and only if other players miss straight and flushes....
