    Hi all,

I just sold a 1988 BMW 325i auto to a friend. I didn't want to, but she insisted! I'm looking for a good, not-too-expensive specialist in the south Dublin area, preferably Blackrock. Any ideas?

Can't recommend a garage and maybe being nosey here, but with vested interest, did you get the 4 grand asking price?

Not too close to Blackrock, but I can recommend AC Car Sales on the South Circular Road - www.accarsales.com.

I was actually asking €4,750, but gave it to her for €3,800. She would happily have paid more, she basically fell for it on sight. That said, it really was a good one - I did 110mph on the motorway in it the other day and the car was as tight as a drum.

    Thanks, Anan.
Bro has an E30 and I have a couple of E28s. E28s seem to be worth a lot less than the E30s; To my mind the E28s are a nicer, better finished car yet drive quite similarly to the E30s. Academic I suppose because I've no plans to sell at present.

Values is like 70s history repeating itself! I suppose the same will happen with the 90s and 00s cars - a 318 will be more sought after than a 520?

On yet another tangent, have you seen this E23 on eBay?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120104306309&rd=1&rd=1

Thanks for that eoin, i'll have a look.

E23 - bigger than the E12/E28 and even better value in terms of size... the bigger they are the harder they depreciate, 6 series aside. That ebay example looks very nice.

oh my GOD, that E23 is flipping gorgeous, if it had leather I'd be selling our e38 750, depreciation, try 60K to 3K in 15 years

stuff value, including 1300 tax it costs less a year than the average micra loses...
