    hello all

i have a bit of an interest in the human body - how it works, diseases etc. Does anyone know of an evening course designed for the lay person in the dublin area??

No, maybe try the CDVEC, although I'd guess they mostly tend to run business/ humanities type classes

Know anybody doing medicine? Borrow notes and/ or books, maybe. Or there's a really good medical textbook shop on Clarendon Street (if you're in Dublin), might be a good start. With the exception for anatomy, the good thing about the areas you mention is that they're pretty easy to learn by yourself just by sitting at a desk.
There's a really good physiology textbook by Silverthorn ('Human Physiology') which I really like.

I realise this is now way too late but this may be good, Ive had lectures from most of the speakers and some are very entertaining. Anyway, I dont know to what level your interested in learning the stuf, ie if its just for fun or if your quite serious about learning some stuff.

Clarendon street is a great shop though!

The RCSI course is supposed to be good and very entertaining, but they only run it every now and then....
