HI all american car owners, we are having a cruise on easter monday. We are meeting at the POPES CROSS in the Phoenix Park at 12 30 and leaving at 1 30. We had originally planed to go to bray, but it being the bank holiday we figured the coast roads would be terrible:( , so we are going on a more leisurely route. We are going to leave he park and into lucan and on to the m50 and up through city west and out onto the BLESSINGTON road . we are then heading for the lakes. Along the route we will stop for food and a chat. :D . so polish up the chevys, caddys, buicks, fords, pontiacs, dodges, in fact any and all american cars welcome.. :D

Hey can I join with a ex-California Jag and my very American father outlaw who also happens to be one of the longest racing classic car pilots in the US of A (40 consecutive years in the same car!) ? Hopefully these credentials would qualify me :)

I dont think you will get the effect you are hoping for.
You'd really need a twin system with just one cherry bomb on each pipe.
A single cherry bomb on a single system wont give you the sound you're after.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭corelon

You mean like my 2 bad boys!!!!!!!! u can only see one fully there but u can see the start of the 2nd one if u look hard on the right !!

You read my mind Kevin and that brings me to my second question, some of you may have noticed that I really need a new exhaust! is it dificult to run a twin exhaust sysytem in place of a single from a 289 ford? and does anyone know someone who can do it?

Also while I'm at it and with the hope of some evening cruises, does anyone know where I can get sealed headlights for my cougar? have one gone on each side?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 301 ✭✭chevyv8

Hi cougar67. try allied auto spares in donnybrook 01 6680097 ask for denis and tell him the size you want , .. think they are 7inch.. denis is very good , he can get you plugs filters etc etc and he is quick getting the parts for you. hope that helps you man.. keep the V8s a rumbling man..

if it mainly a mustang, 7 inch Mini light will do you fine, quite cheap to replace (you can also replace the sealed beam units for normal lights too.)

No not at all, twin pipes were standard on the Cougar GT.
The other '67 Cougar that was on the cruise has twin pipes.
I'm sure you can buy the proper exhaust kit from the states, the Dollar is still very good!

Or you could have somebody here make one if you fancied going down that road?
