Creatine Cycle?

Have been working out in a good rhythm for about 6 months now and have started thinking about creatine. I've done some reading on the web and was wondering about this suggested cycle for creatine:

    Week 1 : Loading 20g/day
    Week 2-4 : Maintenance 10g/day
    Week 5-8 : No creatine

any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated

    Agreed.
The only "cycling" I'd be at all bothered with is taking a bit of time off every now and then.
If I'm using creatine (haven't for months but I will be again soon) I'll take 5g in the morning, and another 5g after training.
No loading or maintenance. I've yet to see something from a reputable source to support these notions, and I certainly think any difference would be minimal.

I dont know if this source is reputable, but this is where i got some info about 'cycling'...

I can always try it and see how it goes.

I guess you could say I "cycle" my creatine usage.

When I'm training for comps, from about 8 weeks out I use it. CEE in a shake pre workout, mono (about 5g) postworkout. Only on training days. None on days off.

I think I can safely say you can take just about everything in that article with a pinch of salt. As regards cycling creatine, either your on creatine or you off creatine. It takes at least 8 weeks for your creatine levels to return to normal after you stop supplementing. Take a break for a few months once a year or whatever but there is no need for shorter cycles that I can see.

I agree. Creatine is something your body produces naturally so just for that reason, & without any science to back me up, I would take the odd break from it. Otherwise, 3 - 5g afer training. Sometimes the same before too.

what you guys think bout creatine and teenagers...[16 year old]...1 main article on the net saying no studies have really been done to prove it has bad effects...but the major common sence reason im afraid to take it is at 16 your still growing and your interfearing with your growth taking it...no?

I agree with Dave. I can't see most 16 years old having there routine tied down a degree where there diet and workouts are in a place to take optimal advantage of creatine to begin with.

Work on your diet and your routine and worry about supplementation later!

    no, just, no

    Creatine doesn't turn into fat
    Muscle doesn't turn into fat

Eating too much sh1t food turns people into fat!

    A few questions on creatine;
afaik it occurs naturally but where? In meat? How much is available when you eat a steak for instance?

Red meats mainly, and some fish. About 1g on the average steak i think.

Just something to think about... I've been super dosing mono postworkout just to see what would happen (about 15g in my shake). And I have to say it's one of the best things I've ever done!!

What??? 15g ???? Is that not dangerous?

There are only 3000mgs of CEE in BNS Cellmass...which is 3 grams...and that stuff is meant to be brilliant.

    It's only 15g 4x a week. I don't think it's that dangerous. It's only for a 4-6 week period, 3x a year. It's definately something I htink I'll keep doing...

CEE is good stuff alright. It's in Xplode II also, which is what I use pre-training.

    1.5g EE
    1.5g Malate

Xplode 1 was the sh!t as an pre-workout energy drink. Got me so focused. Not much of a pump with it tho. Xplode II's so different tho, as I said in another thread, I get a pump in my bi's and forearms doing lat raises!

I had a bicep pump that lasted a good 40 mins a couple of weeks ago!

So five grams is a good bit in food terms. I'm ages away from needing to use creatine but its good to know in advance. Lolz at the pump from the lat raises!:p
