Res Internet Filesharing

    Hey guys,

In the last two years I remember being able to download files through "My Network Places" from the shared documents folders of other people on res while connected to the internet in Larkfield and College Park. I remember being able to set it up with a few clicks, even though I have fairly limited computer knowledge.

This academic year I can't seem to manage it. I've clicked:
    -Control Panel
    -Network Setup Wizard
-Chose "This computer is connected to the internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on the network"
-Used the default Computer Description, and at a second attempt, a different one
-Left the workgroup name as MSHOME
-Selected "Turn on file and printer sharing"
-Chose "Just finish the wizard, I don't need to run it on other computers"
-Received the message: "You have successfully configured this computer for home or small office networking..."

My Network Places doesn't appear when I click on my start menu though I can "access" it by going through My Computer. It is empty though, and if I click "View Workgroup Computers" I am not given access. I'm told "MSHOME is not accessible, you might not have permission to use this network resource.."

Is filesharing no longer available or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks in advance.
