Eidos holding off PS3 game releases till '08

    Now I have some views on sony and ps etc etc but surely this cannot be a good thing in anybodys eyes can it?

    The 'install base' isn't what they expected so they are gonna hold off until it reaches the required numbers.

    But would releasing some high profile or god forbid, some good game(s) not help with increasing those numbers?

    What's weird about the announcment though is that unlike other developers that have cited the same reason for games that were previously exclusive - going multiformat, Eidos dont have any exclusives, which means its the multiformat games that it is delaying / putting on hold - thereby giving 360 & Wii a strange form of exclusivity.

    With developers & publishers cost sky rocketing - I guess it makes business sense, but if developers like Eidos & Ubisoft continue to release PS3 versions months after PC/360 that is not going to win any favors.

    So, what games does this actually effect? I've read there's no plans for the next Hitman or Tomb Raider until 2008 on any platform, so the console isn't losing them. What else do Eidos publish that's of interest? I honestly can't think of anything.

    Hmm the site seems to be down at the moment but I do remember finding that game interesting ages ago when it was first announced. At some point it and Army of Two became the same game in my head... Will have to look out for more info on it.
