I have purchased a dell laptop running Vista ( looks fine so far) but I want to copy all my Thunderbird mails from my P.C. (XP) onto the laptop. I tried to export the local folders but I can't import from anything other than other email programs on the laptop. I was however, able to copy my address book.

Can't find much on the Mozilla help.

    Anyone got any idea's?

Go into your C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Thunderbird folder and copy across the Profiles folder, and the profiles.ini file to your laptop. Next time you start Thunderbird it should work fine.

I used MozBackup to backup the profiles, messages, etc on the old computer and restore it on a new machine.

Can't see "Application Data" folder under my user name. How do I get to view this folder as I have seen it mentioned in some of the searches I have done?

I'll have a look for MozBackup and try it.

Application Data folder is hidden as far as I know, click Tools->Folder Options->View and then tick the button beside Show hidden files and folders. It should appear then.
