I head somewhere that a pregnancy test may not be accurate if your taking the pill. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Yeah I read that somewhere too. It's nonsense though.

Some people have assumed that the pill could affect pregnancy tests because they know that the pill works by increasing the levels of certain hormones associated with pregnancy so that your body is "tricked" into thinking it's already pregnant, and they know that pregnancy tests work by measuring certain hormones associated with pregnancy. Hence they conclude that you will get a false indication on a pregnancy test if you are on the pill.

However, the pill uses estrogens and the pregnancy test measures human chorionic gonadotropin. The pill does not affect human chorionic gonadotropin levels, but pregnancy does.

There are other factors that can affect the accuracy of pregnancy tests, so read the label carefully.
