Depends on your circumstances and needs.

If its cheap you want then try the following:

    http://www.swintonhotel.com/

    http://arriva.altervista.org/arriva.htm

Both a five minute walk from King's Cross. The #259 bus goes from Tottenham to right around the corner from those two hotels (during the day they often park up the bus on Swinton St before starting a run)

Nearer to WHL try the Spring Park on the Seven Sisters Road. You can catch the #279 from WHL to right outside that. Again, its cheap and cheerful.

I'm staying in the Travelodge in Harlow Town (on Stansted railway line) for £26 which you'll be hard pressed to beat.

There's a decent Jurys Inn in Islington.
