CWC Day 18 Thread - Super 8's Ireland V England

Have to kick start this one a bit early. Such a huge huge huge game.

Am very afraid of Vaughan answering his critics here with a ton. Think if we win the toss we should have a go at bowling England out

If England win, I fancy it to be by quite a margin, for some reason I think if its a close game, Ireland will shade it.

Morgan to have a good innings for Ireland.

    Thoughts?

    Updates here tomorrow....

I know that it probably won't happen, but I would love to see Ireland beat the poms tomorrow.

If Ireland won and KP got a duck, it would make my month.

    G'wan the boys!

Involving Ireland in this World Cup, I've seen everything. Highs, lows, you name it, every emotion.

I don't expect tomorrow will be any different.

Head and heart, of course are split... Head says England by a canter... heart hopes for Ireland.

And, looking at Guyana... call the toss correctly...

only one winner of this(england)but i hope its a close one.
all eyes on joyce,he`ll either score a ton or walk for a duck

All the "traitors" need to go for ducks... that's you Ed and KP :D Just kidding!

going to be weird watching the game here after my sojourn in jamaica. if we win the toss, we'll put them in and i think we'll keep them to a smallish score then it'll be up to porterfield and morgan who owe the team a score to help out bray and niall o'brien. i'm going to stick my neck out and say if we win the toss we'll win the game, especially with trent back for us.
has anyone seen that aldi are cashing in on the cricket? they've a junior starter kit for 19.99 in their shops this week, a whole generation of cricket newbies is born! who'd a thunk it?

A German store selling cricket... what ever next!

Rain and showers are forecast for today, expect interruptions and possibly play tomorrow.

I'll say the same thing today* as I said before the Pakistan game:

We need everything to go right for Ireland - win the toss, bowl first, bowl tight & well, then chase the total steadily - and England to have an off-day. God knows, they've been having enough of them recently, so one more isn't that unlikely.

    * The only difference is that today I'm in work - the last time I said this was propping up the bar in the Jamaica Grand, with a large rum & coke in hand. Guess where I'd prefer to be? :(

looking at the pitch, bowling first isnt an option it seems the pitch has a few cracks in it specially on a length delivery, these will only widen as the day goes on.

bat first and try to put on 250 would be the only option if Ireland won the toss.

Well I like Kevin Pieterson and quite a few of the English cricket lads especially Bell and Collingwood. I got the finbgers crossed for a Ireland win but logic suggests that England should win well. Morgan I feel will want to impress so I predict him to top score for Ireland.

Yup, sometimes depending on your ISP, your IP address might be a UK one. I know it worked for me for ages with NTL

They saying 250 on the TV. I wouldnt rule out anything under 300 though

on that wicket 230 would be challenging but doable

His work is done. Can we take him back now?

By the way, is there any way to by pass the BBC's UK IP address requirement? Bet the Collins and Dev didn't think about this when they went on the whole independence trip. Bad move in hindsight.
