summer job abroad for college student...

    hey all.

    next summer im hoping to go some where in europ or america ( any where hot!!) workin for a month or 2 in the summer. im thinking bar work or something, however i dont know where to start... do i try to arrage something befor i go out or just go out and look.. but my fear with that is that i wouldnt get anything..
    has anyone any info on this or maybe done it themselves?? if so id be delighted with a bit of insight!!!

    A month or two isn't that long really, especially if you factor in the cost of getting a J1 visa to allow you to work legally in America. Most uni students will be free for around 4 months, so the earlier you get in the better.

    I'd advise going for a longer period if you can.

    Your best bet would be to try and set something up before you go. At the very least have a list of all the business and details in the area with CVs ready to hand out once you buy a local SIM card and put your number on them!

    Do sort your accomadation and make sure you have enough to cover yoru accomation (or at least a backup plan) if you don't manage to get a job for a while or (unlikely but possible) at all.

    And go for longer as he says, more likely to get a job and more likely to experience the place fully :)
