First thing and you won't believe it now, but you will get through this. That's a fact right there. You'll feel like shít for a while, granted, but it will pass. You will look back on this in years to come and it won't bother you at all. You may even find it difficult to picture her in your head.

How old are you and how long was the relationship? If you don't mind me asking.

in many ways it can be like a bereavemenet - there will be feelings of sadness and indeed anger. it depends also on the relationship. in both cases where i broke up with people the relationship itself had died so i felt nothing really from the breakups.

    Get out. Walk. Occupy yourself.
This is very like grief and the best thing you can do is to keep occupied while the bruising subsides.

Please resist the temptation to keep denying what has happened - you need to try to accept and heal.

You're not alone, if that helps, and anyone who doesn't go through something like this has probably been missing out on something.

You'll be ok - give it lots of time, and take care of yourself.
