    I'll take 52.....

still dont quite get what pokerpeek is.. corner pip??

the pip is the symbol in the cornor of the cards, so sounds like the corner peek is a new style so that makes it more discret, better for "peeking" at by turning the corners. but the face is large so that it can be seen on the table.

Yep - very small corner pips on all corners of the cards and then 2 jumbo pips about a third the way down the card - the pictures I was sent are security coded so I can't copy the file.

    thats clever

    thats clever

Holding down "alt gr" and pressing print screen takes a shot of the active window rather than the whole screen... which is clever +1

Saved me a bollix load of cropping in my time.

Nice attempt to get one over on my post, but im sorry "alt" works on its own, "alt gr" pfft

im strangly interested in these cards, and the longer I wat to see them the bigger let down it will be. probably just a poker novelty, and like Joe a may or may not take that back when I see them

I have to admit I am intensely excited about this as I am a nerd who collects playing cards.

For those who have a nerdlike enthusiasm for things:
Jim McManus who wrote Positively fifth Street has written a brilliant article on the history of the game of poker in this months Cardplayer magazine.

Thanks Peter, I intend to get some sweet stuff from your new website, I'm just restraining myself at the moment as I'm slightly worse for the wear and would probably spend too much.

    Best wishes et bon chance!

Would anyone else look at a corner and then look at the whole card just to be sure or is this just me?:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,900 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

    its just you :) jk
they would probably take a bit of getting used to, but only ever lift the corner when playing, so i can see them being helpful,
but i wouldn't pay extra for them,

    Here's a better image -

    Launch date is May 1st.

Pricing will be €3.50 per deck and pack of 12 €35.
(US Retail is $3.50 + sales tax)

Probably be a lot of players misreading their hole cards, especially the older players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,404 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

pricing is very reasonable as KEMs and Copaqs are aroub 15 a pack now..

I HAVE A4 CARDS FOR THEM! (in caps just in case they can't hear!!) and braille cards if they can't see! LOL

As for pricing - these are standard cardboard cards with cotton fibres and plstic laminating whereas KEM & Copag are 100% plastic. (Copag 6 decks €39 & KEM 6 decks €75)

I read that this new design will be available in KEMs too.
There are made by the same company so don't see why not.
Any plans to stock them mcaul?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

Utterly pointless, a fine example of over thinking, it exactly what is achived by making the ?'corner pip? 50% smaller, is this going to prevent your opponents seeing your cards more than before? No, if they couldn't before, they still can't, etc etc,

completly pointless, fixing something that isn't broken.

If they have them in KEM we'll have them when they are available.

Meh. I prefer teh older cards as well. DOesn't seem like a super dooper change. I don't know what I was expecting, when I opened the link, after reading the hype bit.

    Try these:
    http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Playing-Cards.php

We (Ellusionist) take the USPC brand, i.e. Bicycle and Tally-Ho, and redesign them into works of art.

Currently these playing cards are only available on the Ellusionist site which is why you won't see them in stores. We use high end Casino stock and a new UV500 slick finish that we developed which protects the cards exceptionally well.

We reverse imaged some of the decks into completely black cards as well, which some poker pros love because it forces them to focus when looking at a hand.
