Crete - Hersonissos

    :) Hi

    Me and a couple of mates are going over to crete for a lads holiday for a week at the end of august. Ive been there about 3 yrs ago and stayed in the lyda apartments - very nice but its a good bit away from hersonissos! Just wondering if any of u have stayed in the town of hersonnissos itself and would recommend anywhere to stay?? Were not really pushy as long as its not a kip and has a swimming pool that will do us!

    right, booked my hols to crete yesterday for a week on the 18th of august! cant wait for it, didnt get any apartments in hersonissos though :( staying in lyda apartments so its not too bad. one question though, last time we were there we stayed away from malia because of all the english. is it still the same over there?? like is 7 lads going out on the piss in malia a real bad idea??

    Nah I've been in Malia a few times over the years, just stay away from the typical English scumbags as you would Irish scumbags! But Hersonissos is hell of alot better, way nicer people and also its great to laugh at the scandanavians who cant hold their drink!

    If i'm correct the Lyda apartments are in Gouves way up the hill, great views!

    yeah there in gouves, bout a 10-15 min drive from hersonissos! only a couple of euro each in a taxi, wat clubs do u find the best?? was always a fan of boomerang,kellys and players! didnt really like new york, music wasnt the may west

    Yeah New York was the place about 5 years ago, everyone went there but its getting worse every year. At least macca the rep is still there!
    Yeah all those pubs ya named are a great laugh, dont forget Shamrock up on the main street, great place to start at, and the Blarney Stone of course.

    Status and Camelot are good places if your into clubbing.

    Yeah cant wait to head back over, such a great place to go and enjoy great weather and alchohol! Happy days!
