Blackberry 8800 and O2 APN

    Hi Folks,
Actually, this is more a question about the O2 apn than the 8800.
With my 8800, I'm having the same problem as I was with my Pearl - I can't use Opera Mini or several other 3rd party apps.
Is apn something that you have to get "activated" with O2? I don't have a business tariff, just a normal tariff with the 75Mb data plan.
I've entered my O2 apn details into the tcpip section of the phone, but still nothing's working.
I can receive e-mails etc with no problems, so the dataplan itself is fine.
    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    S.

There are 2 APN's you can use with O2.

    1) wap.dol.ie = Use of BB browser and all data is free with a data plan. Downside is no Opera, AFT etc...

    2) open.internet = Full access. Opera, AFT etc. work perfectly. Downside is you can be hit with data charges.

At least this is my understanding of the O2 APN's.

    Cal.

You should take that as confirmation that I'm looking help to solve a problem.
Firstly, I'm up north. Secondly, they've been shipping it there for the past month.

Hi Cal, will this work up north too? I currently have a 75Mb per month data plan.
Do you have the username and password for it?

    Cheers,
    S.

The 8800 doesnt have wifi or camera??

How very true, you are, I saw one yesterday in an O2 store

You can also buy the 8100 on Vodafone on Data only this is unlimited e-mail and you pay for your internet then

    €239

O2 is unlimited e-mail and internet

    for €199
so it has to be o2 i think
