Does anyone know how long it takes to process an order purchased with a voucher in comparison to an actual credit card online?

Also, does anyone know exactly whats involved in the processing of the actual voucher? would it be exaclty like a debit card only with a dedicated permanent tsb system/ account set up to act as the debited account.

Im just curious, one reason is if they are actually worth the hassle for the issuer (tsb). Im guessing they generate more revenue than credit cards for the type of people that only spend what they have and clear their credit cards as soon as possible (assuming the vouchers are used more than 8 times annually per person {€40 cc stamp duty}) not to mention the potential remaining amount left on the vouchers that people dont bother redeeming
