Dell Inspiron Adapter

    Hey...

I have come accross a problem with the adapter for my laptop. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, and each time I plug in the power supply, a message comes up saying:

"the AC Power Adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 65W AC Adapter or higher for best system operation"

So what's this all about. Is it a problem with the connection within the laptop of is it the adapter itself?

Any help appreciated on this one, cheers. ;)

Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 after the Dell Bios logo disappears just before windows actually starts loading. Select "Safe Mode" from the list by using up/down arrows.
Once logged into safe mode trying connecting the adapter and see does the same warning appear.
I would hazard a guess that it may be indeed be a faulty power supply unit. If you know someone with the same charger, try theres and see what happens....
