    Hey,

not sure if this is the write forum for this so apologies in advance if it isnt.

Basically what I am looking to do is somehow copy the table about economic variation from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_EU, into a word document. Can anyone tell me a quick way of doing this without having to manually do a table out and fill in the figures from the site?

    cheers for the help.

    I think I can help.

Open the page in IE, right click on the table and select 'export to microsoft excel'.

This is one of the three things that IE is actually useful for. Probably, there is a firefox extension, but I wouldn't bother looking.

Thanks a million edanto, but here is where I'm going to sound like a right ungreatful s.o.b.

The table I was talking about was below that:

    Economic variation

Below is a table showing, respectively, the GDP (PPP), the GDP (PPP) per capita and the GDP (nominal) per capita for the European Union...

Perhaps I'm missing something there but copy and paste works fine for me. Its just HTML and word can handle that.

Does for me but maybe I'm not understanding what you want. I uploaded it here.

I think the reason that perhaps you think its not in the table format is that the borders on the table are not visible. You just need to select the table and mark all the borders to be shown on the borders menu.
That should show it the way you want it
If you're not comfortable with cutting and pasting into Word, try this, save the webpage to your hard-drive. Then rightclick on the file you save and click on "open with" and select word, your webpage then opens in Word and you can save it again as a Word doc like so ....

If your Excel licence has run out get that stuff off your machine and download/install Open Office. It is free and works exactly as Microsoft Office!

I opened up "Writer" which is the same as Word. Then I copied (right click) the table and went to Writer. Selecting "Paste Special" pasted the table as "HTML Format" and Bob's yer uncle. The file can then be "Saved As" and chose your format!

    Free...

    Get your Open Office Free!!!

ps. I removed some rows to make the file fit here.
