what progeam are you using to rip the cd's?

i've used cdex for years and can read from cddb an internet database for the tags. windows media player, winamp and many other programs will also retrieve data online.

As calex71 said cdex is number 1 in my book(have for years)but I stay away from windows media player

Yeah, avoid Media Player and iTunes for making MP3s - they use crap encoders among other things. CDex and EAC use LAME which is probably the best MP3 encoder, and as others said will get your tags easily off freedb.

Exact Audio copy, i have installed Winamp newest version and that can get the CD info, but when the CD is playing, not when the mp3s have been created

Using EAC, once you have the CD in and a list Track 1, Track 2..., just hit Alt+G and it will fill in the tags automatically.

Never seen that before. Hit F12 and you can change the server the tags come fom. Hit the "Get active freedb server list" first as there are a lot of servers and only some work.

You may need to enter an email address if the CDDB server accepts submissions, regardless of whether you are submitting or not. Just enter any old thing in the format of an email address in your CDDB options, it won't check it anyway.
