can't get into gmail on my laptop

    Hi
    I dunno if im posting this in the right place but anyways...
    as of yesterday my laptop wont go into gmail. it just keep saying "waiting for website" etc etc and then keeps doing this repeatedly. Ive been using gmail for ages and this only happened yesterday. Rest of the web is fine.

    Any ideas? Cheers

    When it says it's waiting for website, go up to the address bar and delete everything bar "http://mail.google.com/mail/" and then press enter. Should make it come up.

    no this didnt work. when i deleted all the other stuff ans pressed enter it all just popped back up into the address bar again :confused:

    Have you tried accessing it via another browser?

    Also did you try clearing your browser cache etc?

    Could be dns related, check your local hosts file

    c:\%windowsdir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    I've seen various P2P & torrent clients "play" with your hosts file, adding spurious entries.

    Without any mods, the loopback address is usually the only host defined, as below:

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    Gmail was down a few times over the last few times you might have just hit it when that was going on. Assuming of course that the problem is no longer there.
