    Hi Folks ,

Im just back from holiday and after purchasing a new digital camera (Fuji 6500fd) and I have taken quiet a few sequences of shots which I would like to merge into panoramas . I used to use Canons Photostitch software but alas I cannot find the sw installation cd or can I find it to download via their website .

Can anybody reccomend to me some freeware or budget priced software awailable to download which you may have some experience in using and would reccomend to myself

    Cheers in advance

    Jambo !!

I find autostitch does a good job. And it's free! :D

I got a copy of ptgui recently that's doing the trick so far. Wasnt that expensive... I got it because I was sick of trying out freeware or shareware that ended up doing a bloody awful job.

    Cheers lads,

Just after I started this thread I found some sw called Panorama Factory - which I found to be total rubbish.

Latchiko - I tried auto stitch and I was impressed at what results I got without changing any settings but the were some noticeable blurs + miss matches at the seams.

Rymus - as for ptgui , Its blown me away , even after just creating a panorama from just eight sequenced shots , the quality was excellent plus the level of manipulation you can have for each scene is great even without been a whizzkid.

Having checked through the Photo Gallery on the ptGui site and seen that this tool can do IPIX like shots has me thinking that give me a while tweaking with the demo and then Ill be more than likely purchasing the licence for it very soon.

So thumbs up to ptGui ! cheers for the responses lads ( Only wish I had known about ptGui before I had went on holiday to chance my arm at the 360 pano's )

Jambo, thanks for the feedback. I must have a look at ptgui myself, it sounds good.
There are a few interesting tips on taking panoramas here. I don't think I'd strap my new camera to a rickity make-and-do tripod head, but the points about finding and then rotating the camera around the entrance pupil while taking panoramas definately help the stitching software afterwards.
