Barking dogs causing a nuisance...

Hi I have an annoying problem,

Recently new neighbours have moved into my estate they have this little rat dog who they shove into the back garden at random times throughout the day sometimes for an hour or two, but today they put the little fecker out from 11am to 5pm and he barked his little high pitched bark none stop all day long.

To make matters worse another set of neighbours moved in who are friends of the previous folks mentioned, imagine my horror as I opened my window to pour a pot of water over the little s**t who seemed to be barking in stereo and found that the neighbours had an identical breed of dog who is just as bad, so now I have two nuisance dogs barking none stop most of the day.

I have a little daughter 19months who needs her nap during the day, which she isn't getting and crankiness ensues for the day, any parent will understand this.

Listening to that little s**t barking and holding my patience is getting harder and harder. And I am imagining how many ways I can do him / them in without getting caught out, not that I will do that, that is just how bad it is getting.

I have checked out all the legal things that I can do 'civil action', nuisance dogs etc and the general thing seems to be serve them a summons after reasonable talks, reasonable talks to people who are obviosly aware of the disturbance they are causing doesn't seem to me to be a reasonable course of action as there are obviously totally ignorant people and to confront them will only draw trouble.

I know the legal implications, I know the common sense approach which works with people with common sense: ie those like myself who respect the people they have to live with but I can't see it working with them.

I would like to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience and dealt with the situation with success without repercussions. Really appreciate any advice and experience on this.
