There's now some really great Chinese's along Parnell Street , eastern end; depends what you want - sushi in the Shakespeare, noodles in Hangyan, or Kimbap in what was the old Blue Lion bar (now painted black, its odd to think how many people used to get shot in there  )

Plenty along there to chose from - about a dozen in that strip alone :)

I've heard the best ones are the ones on Moore's Street as they're actually aimed at the Chinese market... May not be too romantic though.

The best ones are generally full of Chinese so not exactly romantic. It's one or the other usually.

Try the one on Moore Street that is upstairs and has a red lantern hanging outside, or the one on Parnell Street across from the McDonald's in the ILAC - there are two Chinese places side by side - the one with the statue of buddha in the window is excellent.

I highly highly recommend China Red House on Parnell Street, run by chinese folk and very cosy. Great servings, easy on the wallet and very tasty.

Alternatively there is a Korean/Chinese on Capel Street, can't quite remember the name of it but it's something like Hi-Lan. It's more expensive than the places on parnell/moorse street, though a nice meal will still cost about €10. Very tasty and large portions. It's always busy so if your going on a friday/saturday night booking a table is advised.

'Good World' on George's Street is nice and is reasonably priced. There's two sets of menus in there - the one they give you when you sit down and aren't obviously Chinese and the one Chinese patrons get and Mr and Mrs Occidental have to ask for. The Chinese menu is the better of the two - more variety in dishes and more authentic.
