Simpsons 400th episode and other news

Found this article here, with Stephen Colbert, could be interesting. :)
COMING TO A THEATRE NEAR YOU: The Simpsons gang was here, being typically evasive about their upcoming movie (due July 27), though they had lots to say their 400th TV episode (in May) and beyond.

"There are two that are going to air that night," reveals producer Al Jean. "One is a satire of 24, where we get Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub to do roles. It's a really intricate, really clever script by Ian Maxtone-Graham. And then another writer, Tim Long, did the second show, in which Kent Brockman says something that gets the news station fined by the FCC and he's fired.

"In February, we have two great shows with Natalie Portman and Eric Idle – Idle in a show where we satirize the Seven Up movies. It's terrific. We have Meg Ryan, Stephen Sondheim, James Patterson, Peter Bogdanovich and Andy Dick in one episode on March 4. And then next season we've got an episode that has Stephen Colbert and Lionel Richie that will probably be our premiere."

I used to be one of the biggest simpsons fans around, I don't even watch the recent episodes they got that bad.

    I'll check out the '24' episode :)

The Eric Idle episode has already been on.

It was probably one of the best episodes in a long long time...

The last new episode I saw wasn't all that great. Selma gets married yet again.. this time to
    Grandpa Simpson

Since when should people care which celebrity appears on the Simpsons next. I be more interested if they were boasting about making a good episode.

I remember when they screened the 200th episode Matt Groening said he was gonna finish up the series as it had run its course. If only...

Yeah, it should have ended a LONG time ago - trotting out guest stars in the hope that it will make an episode good was never the answer, they should have been more focused on the writing/jokes etc. - well, that's my opinion anyways.

I haven't watched any "new" episodes of The Simpsons in ages, and I have no intention of starting again - they are pure sh1te

Last weeks episode had the best couch gag of all time. The episode itself was a bit so-so though.

Yeah, thought it was brilliant. The episode was a bit better than previous weeks but far from brilliant.

Tbh the best episodes usually involved celebrities not playing themselves e.g Steve Martin, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Jackson, Jon Lovitz. Long gone are those days.

My main problem with the last few series of the simpsons is how smug the people that make it are about the newer episodes. They're always going on in interviews about how it's as good as ever. They must be taking the piss.

I thought it was good anyway. :)

Looks like they showed ep 22 first to draw people in (especially if 21 was terrible!)

I thought it was very good.... I actually belly laughed a few times, and that hasn't happened in a new simpsons for a very long time. Special mentions for the hanging joke, Ahmed Adoodi and Shelbyville :)

Watched it. Thought it was very meh. Maybe that was because there was too much of Lisa in it.

The 24 episode was......okay. Compared to old episodes, it was very weak. Compared to the last few seasons, it was pretty strong. What does that tell you that none of us already know. :(

The Kent Brockman one was disappointing. I was just getting into the main story when the show ended. Stupid overly long dentist segment.
