If no one answers, ring Fingal County Council's Transportation Department. They will be happy to help you.

    Yea... Noticed that!!!

Works also seen Parallel to the Clonee to Lucan road (R149)...... Currently Crossing the Leixlip to R149 road, and the Jarretstown Road.

Didn't think any new roads were planned there..... There was a planning permission sign for a new road linking Ongar to Barnhill, which will be forming part of the outer line road (N4 to N3 Link).....

    See Map Here

    Anybody have any more info????

I was going to post about this too.

It starts at the statue of Mary in Clonee over to Ongar to Lucan road then crosses over at Brennans Bakery on Lucan road and then at the Confey, Leixlip.

All the site entrances have gate numbers like its a big project.

It is a strange one..... There's no mention of it on the Fingal Co Co webite

It certainly looks like a road...... but no mention of it anywhere!!! And it's not following the path of the proposed outer ring road according to the Fingal Co Co development plan. (Dotted line on "Blanchardstown Map 6" and "Blanchardstown Map 12")

(However the development plan does match the planning permission sign for the new link road i mentioned above)

If i pass in the next few days, i'll stop and ask one of the workers..... Will post if i get an answer.

Just found out what's going on..... We can all temper our enthusiasm, It's a Water main :)

Yep.... a new Water main..... not a magical Link Road!!!

Still makes you wonder why not use the same piece of land for a new Road....Hold on, that would be joint up thinking!!!

maybe so, but road works are in the pipeline in the area, from planning notice looks like ongar distributer road is to be extended to clonee - lucan road

old thread, but is there any plans of connecting N4 and N3?

doubtful. There was something on OpenStreetMap like a proposal but it's gone now, there was never any sign of it on the ground.

There was a corridor selected by NRA for an Outer Orbital Motorway beyond the M50 (possibly ~Blessington ~ Naas ~ Drogheda) maybe 10 years ago.

Closer to Dublin Fingal/SDCC penciled a route into their development plans for a road linking N4 to Blanchardstown in the long term. See http://www.fingalcoco.ie/media/2.4.1.P%20Sheet13.pdf

so no progress in the last 10 yrs. with M50 traffic ever increasing and traffic standstill so common, not sure why there is not much moment for alternate routes and connectivity. the only I am aware of the area(clonee/Ongar/hansfield) is the new hansfild station. getting to M50 eveyday is such a pain.
and 39 routes takes ages to go to CC.
any other good progress in the area in terms of connectivity?any one is aware
