Original BSG music

I have been watching the original tv show over 20 years ago, that was a great success in France, like Starsky & Hutch ...

Anyway my point is that in one of the new BSG serie episode, from season 1 I think, the music was there, like a wink to the old serie, I heard the music of the original serie, seriously a little tear came out, this music, a part from the fact reminded me lots childhood stuffs, is also really nice.

But I can't find it again, I have the serie on DVD, but I have been unable to locate from which episode it came from.

Anyone remember ?

Its called Colonial Anthem .
Its a remix of the "Theme from Battlestar Galactica" and its in series 2 episode 8 'Final Cut'

Yep, its used as the theme to the current affairs program Baltar is interviewed on.

The original music appeared in the miniseries (which is not included i the season 1 box set) as the Vipers perform their flyby at the decommissioning ceremony. The original music is supposed to be a sort of the official marching music of the colonial fleet or something.

Not that I can find, but there was new music in the last episode, maybe thats why...
The Colonial Anthem is on the 2nd season soundtrack though.

Season 3 soundtrack will be out in August same time as season 3 on DVD

BSG Music composers blog - warning season 3 spoilers.

Note the above guy is not Richard Gibbs who did the music for the first mini-series remake he's listed in the TV series as well though I think they only re-use what he made for the original soundtrack of the mini series. Frankly his stuff remains better than the other guy above to me at least.

Im more looking forward to the song whose name i dont know, the one from all the basestar scenes that was written specially for those scens that gave it that amazing feel

Ye I’m a fan of the Anthem, but i didn’t see the original so i get a sort of "Starship Troopers" feel when i hear it, did starship troopers do a nod to the original?
