    Hi,
How important is a rest day when training? At the moment I am training to sort a bad knee. Part of me, wants to keep training as the more I train the quicker it will get better, the other part of me doesn't want to over push myself.
    cheers

    ABSOLUTELY VITAL!

I can't stress enough how important at least one day a week of rest is. If you skip it you are heading for life long injury street, via aaaargh my knee i think it's exploded boulevard!

Also to note that your strength gains actually comes from recovering from the exercise, not the exercise itself, therefore training more often could well equal slower progress.

If you are rehabbing a knee are you not seeing a physio and if so did they not tell you what frequency to use?
