How many have been sold in Ireland???

I heard 20k Ps3 are in the country right now.

Get on a Pre-order list, put your name down for a few and then cancel when you get one :D

I was checking argos in Castlebar for a friend today and no wii to be had there sadly.

On the other hand you could pick up any one of 20 PS3 consoles if you're so inclined... I will say Sony seem to have gotten their figures right on supply, theres no danger of anyone who wants a ps3 not getting one at this rate! Which is not really what they want on a launch day but thats what you get when you charge silly prices.

Nintendo do need to ramp up wii availability at this stage.

Wii's are still sold out everywhere, I've rang around and been told you hve to pre-order and the quickest they will be back in stock is 2-4 weeks depending on the shop you ask.

Am amazed Wii's are still so hard to get. About a month or so back, i said i'd wait a month or so for demand to ease up and go into my local Smyth's and pick one off the shelf.

    Obviously not the case!

I pre-booked mine on a Saturday and it was in the following Thursday about the end of February.

It was the same situatuion in the US, Wii's nowhere to be found and PS3 gathering dust on shelves.

Can't believe the Wii is so popular and the DS for that matter.

I preordered one in SMyths in Blanchardstown, and it took me two weeks to get it.

SO I guess you have to preoder

Had thought the shortage situation would be solved by now too.

Anyone know how many Wiis have got to Ireland or is the same in other european countries?

Is the lack of stock due to high sales or negligible supplies?

both but mainly high sales. you have to remember the wii had the whole christmas panic goin on becuase parents had to have them for the kids.

I know it's not going to help you that much now...

I spent the whole day yesterday on a hunt for a Wii in Limerick and it is avalable NOWHERE here.

Then I did a bit of research in a French and in a German forum and people are reporting that piles of boxes are available in the shops on the continent...

I just want to walk into a shop and buy something trivial like a games console and take it home. I don't want to be put on a queuing list... FFS!
