Intonation again!

I restrung the LP last night and I can't get the intonation right on the G and E(6th) string. All strings are in tune open and at the 12th harmonic but not when fretted at the 12th. Both the G and E string are sharp but I cannot put the saddle back any further on thoses strings. WTF? Anybody?

P.S. The pickups are pretty low and far from the strings(as the action is set pretty low too) so I don't think its a magnetic pull from the pickups.

Its not the harmonic you should be checking, it will always be in tune with the open string.

You want to compare the open string with the 12th fretted,

or the 12th fretted with the 12th harmonic.

The second one there just takes into account the stretch of the strings or something, it doesnt really matter, either works ok, and no matter what way you do it, youre going to be out of tune on some part of the neck.

Can you reverse the LP saddle to give you a bit more scope to change?

I could Doc but I don't think it would give me enough. I have the stop tail flush with the body. Would it make a difference if I brought that up a bit? Suppose I could give it a try anyway

The stoptail bit shouldn't make a difference, I always keep it flush against the body too, makes for a better angle over the bridge. Out of curiosity, measure the distance between the edge of the nut and the 12th fret and the distance between the 12th fret and the saddle.
