The calm before (and after) the Irish storm.

2 completely dead rubbers. Its really the World Cup final though for Scotland and Holland, will be a v competitive match and for some reason I fancy the Dutch to sneak it.

As for Canada V New Zealand, well this one doesnt matter a fiddlers, NZ have beaten both teams (Eng and Ken) that could go through from the group with them, so will carry 2 points into the Super 8. NZ have said they will rest some first choicers, interesting to see their squad depth here. Im hoping its good cause I have my tenner on them!

    Thoughts?

    Updates here tomorrow

Rats. I'll hardly be watching those matches... well, maybe the Black Caps...
Scotland and the Dutch might entertain....

Scotland are doing poorly here 13-2, New Zealand are cruising along 38-0, I would be very surprised if they did not get more than 275 runs.

Wicket! Fleming is gone, Vincent on 54 will soon be thinking of a century.
    142-1

    Zzzzzz

Some crap matches on today. I'm watching them anyway though. Ah the cricket world cup, there's still about 5 weeks of this left.

Agreed. A shining example of crease occupancy.

    Scotland 77/6 from 21.

Scotland 136 all out in 34.1 overs.

I fail to see where this went wrong. Sunny day, the pitch the colour of straw.... and the Dutch bowling attack.... Scotland should've posted 200-250 at least. I know they were sent into bat, but still... woegious.

New Zealand 281-5,Vincent who is gone scored 101. Oram is at the crease at the moment should be fun.

Oram and Mc Cullum are smashing poor Canada all over the place. Mc Cullum smashed the quickest 50 ever of 20 balls!

    HOlland reached 140-2 in 23.5ovs

New Zealand hit 363/5 from 50ovs

    Canada a respectable 87-1 (11ovs) in reply

Aside from NZ sparkle in a one-sided game, today was indeed a snoozefest.

One a high note, I went to Elverys and bought a nice new shiny cherry. This WC has motivated this 30 year old to get back into the game :D

Some bowling in the nets on Sunday to start off. Baby steps.
